The Children’s Wood – go wild this weekend

By on May 31, 2017

As the West End Festival gets underway, there will be loads for families to enjoy at the Woodland Fun Day, at the Children’s Wood on North Kelvin Meadow this Saturday, June 3.

There will be music from Brass Aye, Dancing With Trees workshops, Eco Drama Workshops … and the chance to pet some animals! There will also be crafts, play and great food on the BBQ. All from 12-4pm.

Saturday and Sunday will also mark Volunteer Action Weekend, with the Children’s Wood focusing on  a variety of important seasonal jobs.

This means weeding and thinning plants, planting veg for the Food Corridor community project, maintaining the orchard and fruit trees and even designing a rain water collection system.

The Children’s Wood is on North Kelvin Meadow, a green community space edged by Sanda, Kelbourne and Clouston Streets.

* June 3, Woodland Fun Day at the Children’s Wood, 12 – 4pm. June 3-4, Volunteer Action Weekend at the Children’s Wood.
