Kelvingrove Bandstand is set for a busy season as the West End gears up for a summer of festivals, music and dance …

Once again this popular local venue will have a starring role in events at both the West End Festival, that begins with the Gibson Street Gala on Sunday,  May 31 and ends on Sunday, June 28, and the 25th Glasgow Mela on Sunday, June 14.

But Glasgow Life have also announced a programme of family-friendly events with Kelvingrove Bandstand open to the public every Wednesday from now until August.

Also planned are musical highlights including Big Music for Little Ears from Thursday, July 2–Monday, July 6, a  musical exploration of Scotland’s cultural heritage delivered through Live Music Now’s Traditional Tunes for Tiny People programme – remember to bring your dancing shoes.

And on Saturday, July 11 there will be a special 1920s themed day Trip Through The Twenties, with music, dance, history, culture, and fashion all celebrating the heyday of the Kelvingrove Bandstand.

In August, the Kelvingrove Bandstand features the return of the Regular Music Magner’s Summer Nights* with performances from Glasvegas, Ben Folds, Echo and The Bunnymen, Joan Armatrading, King Creosote and Roddy Frame (August 6-15).
