Queen Margaret Drive sizzles in sunshine festival
Queen Margaret Drive sizzled on Sunday as local people filled the sealed-off street for a fun-packed festival.
But in addition to the street play, stalls, the Big Street Ceilidh, music and performance, was the official launch of the QMD community office at Kelvin Hair.
The aim of this new resource is to give local grassroots community and volunteer groups access to office and filing facilities, as well as providing a networking and meeting place.
Rhonda Fraser, who is chair of Queen Margaret Drive Traders Association and also active in the QMD Community, said: “The office space will also give the local community a focal point to express ideas, opinions and to access information.
“We believe this will strongly help in the betterment of G20, creating a local sense of wellbeing and bringing community groups together to give them a stronger voice.”
