North Kelvin Meadow and the Children’s Wood: Six days until petition is delivered

By on February 23, 2016

North Kelvin Meadow and the Children’s Wood campaigners are urging more local people to sign their petition appealing to the Scottish government to throw out plans for property development on the popular green space.

Glasgow city council last month approved New City Vision’s planning application to build 90 flats on the Meadow despite local objections – but also approved the Children Wood’s planning application to keep the land as a wild greenspace and for the community.

The New City Vision plan must go to the Scottish government before they are granted planning permission. While essentially, the Children’s Wood have planning permission but not owner – as in Glasgow city council – permission.

Campaigners now want the Scottish government to ‘call in’ the  New City Vision application – with just six days until the petition is delivered to Holyrood on February 29.
