By on May 25, 2015

Glasgow’s Mela, Scotland’s biggest free multi-cultural festival, is celebrating 25 years this summer.

The huge outdoor festival at Kelvingrove Park on Sunday, June 14 offers a diverse programme of music, dance and performance representing cultures from across the world that have made Glasgow their home.

A real family event, the Glasgow Mela is open to all ages and includes lots of kids’ activities, as well as stalls selling gifts, accessories, clothes and more, and a mouth-watering range of quality world foods.

Two massive Mela favourites are back to headline again this year – the mighty Dhol Foundation in collaboration with bagpipe rockers Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

Other performers confirmed so far include the popular dance acts AbhinayaDance Ihayami and Desi Bravehearts, up-and-coming indie duo Sacred Paws – and a UK premiere for the renowned Dhol drummers from Lahore, the Sain Tanveer Brothers, along with bhangra veterans Alaap Group and top Jamaican dub poet Yasus Afari
