By on August 21, 2015

The Children’s Wood on North Kelvin Meadow are having a Harvest Festival on Sunday, August 23.

This harvest celebration event is for families and all the community, with organisers listing activities that include face painting, pressing apples to make juice and outdoor play. There will also be food, tea and coffee.

And it’s a chance to find out more about the Children’s Wood plans for the space and how you can get involved.

The Harvest Festival programme of events features …

1pm – Uprooted by Eco Drama. A unique outdoor theatre experience for children and families, fusing live performance, music and living plants with innovative stage design.
2pm Brass, Aye? A carnival style community brass band.
3pm Interactive Storytelling.
4pm Tam Dean Burn will read Julia Donaldson’s new book What the Jackdaw Saw. This performance will be suitable for children with hearing impairments.

Children’s Wood organisers are also asking for under-16s to bring with them photos, pictures, drawings or impressions of ‘why I love the meadow and wood?’ – they will be making a short film about their thoughts and feelings regarding the land.
