Celtic Music Radio is hosting its fifth house concert next month at its Admiral Street studios in Glasgow.

Three-piece ceilidh band Freereelin’ will bring their passion, fun and energetic music to the stage of the volunteer-led station, which staged its first such concert in November last year.

Freereelin’ features Lesley Thompson on fiddle, Davy Lees on guitar with percussion provided by Stuart McQueen – all multi-instrumentalists whose edgy folk sounds, dance tunes and traditional songs have brought them a growing following.

The idea is Celtic Music Radio will have one such gig a month.

The charity-status station has held four previous successful house concerts featuring Eef Barzelay, Ags Connolly, the Duncan McCrone Band and, most recently, a sold out show with Canadian singer/songwriter, Tia McGraff.

• FREEREELIN’, House Concert, Celtic Music Radio Studios, Admiral Street, Kinning Park, Glasgow. Friday, June 9 – doors 7.30 pm. Donation (£10) – BYOB. To reserve seats email: houseconcerts@celticmusicradio.net
