Don't miss

All budgets, all tastes – Granny Would Be Proud

By on April 13, 2014
Bursting at the seams with vintage threads, indie designers and even the odd scrumptious slice of cake, writes Miss West End Girl …  Is it any wonder that Granny Would Be Proud’s fashion and craft fair has become something of a West End staple over the years?
Set up almost every Sunday at Hillhead Bookclub, you can expect to find a huge variety of stalls to suit all budgets and tastes including vintage fashion for ladies and gents, handmade clothing and accessories, quirky jewellery, homewares, local art & design talent, upcycled goods, fresh baking and loads more. The vendors are a little different each time which always makes it worthwhile popping in to see what’s on!
A few favourites include retro optician The Eyedresser, jewellery and accessories by Hey Sailor and Twa Burds handmade soaps. As well as giving locals the opportunity to browse and shop goodies by upcoming talent, Granny Would Be Proud also allows shoppers to meet and chat with the designers and makers themselves, perfect if you’re new to their brands and want to know a little bit more!
Set in the shabby-chic surroundings of Hillhead Bookclub – think chintzy furniture and fairy lights – there is really no better setting to go and spend your Sunday afternoon with Granny.
And thrifty fashionistas won’t want to miss Granny Would Be Proud’s A Tenner or Under event on May 4 – which promises all stalls to be priced at a very purse-friendly £10 or less. Who says you can’t find a bargain these days…
Interested in keeping up to date with Granny and who to expect at each fair? Or maybe you’re a vendor yourself and want to get involved? Be sure to visit Granny Would Be Proud’s Facebook Page for all the details.
* You can shop at Granny Would Be Proud most Sundays at Hillhead Bookclub, 17 Vinicombe Street, G12 8BE
